On the October cover of InStyle Magazine, Gwyneth Paltrow looked radiant in a very daring but beautiful purple jumpsuit by the remarkable Diane von Furstenberg.
Not only was the cover a big high five for DVF but the amazing designer herself sat down and interviewed Ms. Paltrow for the issue. I can only imagine the fun these two had and I wonder what secrets the mother of two shared with the fabulous designer.
I guess we will all have to wait until the issue comes out on stands this Friday.
What do you think readers? Is this look a do or don’t for Gwyn? You all already know my answer, I want to hear yours.
Branching out from her already-impressive empire, Diane von Furstenburg is making a bold move for her Spring 2013 offerings and already impressive collaborations.
The US swimming team has been doing an amazing job in the Olympics and our incredible designer is collaborating with a limited edition swimwear line with, Olympic worthy brand, ROXY.
This limited-edition capsule collection will be called “DVF Loves ROXY”. It will include 35 pieces that will make you lust for summer to begin all over again. Other fun beach items the designer and brand are also working on apart from swimsuits will be beach bags, board shorts (boys rocking DVF? yes please!) and matching cover ups.

Kate Beckinsale hit the purple carpet at the 2012 Film Independent Spirit Awards in Santa Monica, California on Feb 25, 2012. The English, Underworld actress looked stunning in an exquisite Diane von Furstenberg jumpsuit, from the Fall 2012 runway.
It has been said that friends thought DVF crazy for wanting to move to New York’s Meatpacking District may years ago. Little did these friends know that what once was a unsavory area of the city would become a meca of shopping, hotels and restaurants. The classic yet bohemian style of DVF is apparant throughout her beautiful meatpacking District home. She has shared that her home is a collection of articles collected throughout her life and provides glimpses into her life.
I’m jealous!! Gap Kids and Gap Baby will be debuting mini wrap dresses starting at $68 (March 15th) by the one and only Diane von Furstenberg. When I was just a wee little one, my grandma used to tailor her old DvF pieces just for me.. well this is a better modern day method.
I wish I was a baby or at the very least, 6 years old.
Today, was the day that my dream and everything in between came true. First and foremost, I must thank Kate Sroczynski, without her I wouldn’t have had my first step into this world.
I attended DVF’s Fall Collection 2012 Rendez-vous Runway show. Originally it was for a standing ticket, which was MORE than okay to me. But, after first being unable to find my ticket, the next friendly check in girl saw the distraught look on my face and checked again. I then was given my ticket and walked in, with my legs and heart shaking.
I’ve attended shows before, mainly in Los Angeles, but this was THE show that I’ve waited my life to witness. I was then seated because there were some empty seats and my night got even more incredible.
Being surrounded by not just Fashion Elites, like Carine Roitfeld, Joanna Coles, Nina Garcia, Oscar de la Renta and Anna Wintour. I saw some who have inspired my life even more, like Barbara Walters and Anderson Cooper.
The collection, wow, what words could describe it? Incredible, Amazing, Beautiful, Mind-blowing, Sensational, I can definitely go on.
In my opinion, DVF, the woman behind such beautiful collections, has outdone herself, more than any other designer this year.
One after another, the gorgeous pieces, with subtle yet vibrant colors emerged on the runway. Each one just got more intricate and detailed with DVF’s signature pop of colors, sequin and elegant shapes.
Once the lights turned on, and Diane, herself walked the runway with Yvan, at that moment, all my doubts of what I wanted to do and the woman I wanted to be became clear.
I cannot wait until my chance of being a part of her team comes true. Who knows? 2012 has already allowed many of my dreams to come true.
So today was my first official day off since… Forever. I celebrated by going to a show taping with a friend, grabbing lunch and shopping at Barney’s. Can you guess which section I went to first? ;) DvF of course.
My shopping trip was followed by a fabulous Blowout at the incredible Drybar in Midtown and a eyebrow shaping at the Threading Station.
After getting pampered up, I realized I had put off a months worth of laundry, that I swore I would do today. I’m just the worst when it comes to domesticated responsibilities.
I was now on 50th and 8th heading home, on the subway, when I also realized I didn’t have change or detergent.
To top it off I was on a train heading in the wrong direction. I stopped at 42nd, thinking, “yay! There’s a Wells Fargo ATM at this stop!” Wrong. I was thinking of the conveniently placed ATM on 42nd and Times Square, not 42nd and 7th aka where I was.
When I got off I was hoping for some random bank or deli to grab some money and detergent to call it a night. Just my luck (thank God) there was a nice Wells Fargo bank as I emerged the station. I grabbed my money as I immediately realized… My coin operated laundry room won’t take these 20s. So, like the smart girl I am (read into the sarcasm), I ran to a Duane Reade grabbed my detergent, paid with my nice, crisp $20 and ran out the door with my change.
As I’m juggling my bag, my laptop bag, groceries and my cell. I immediately drop most of my things on the ground… But not just any ground. My stuff “happened” to decide to drop on top of Ms. DvF’s plaque on the Fashion Walk of Fame.
My night of chaos seemed to be so long in the past that at that very moment my world was calm again.
Is that a sign or what?
Also, if you’re wondering I got my laundry done ;).
